Meet the team of Rachel’s Irish Adventures
Born and bred in North Mayo, Rachel has blazed a trail around the world in recent years. She’s learned languages, ran races, forged friendships and made memories, but to Rachel, there’s just no place like home.
Rachel just adores the outdoors and she believes with a passion that the secret gems of Mayo and Sligo along the Wild Atlantic Way are next to none when it comes to challenging your body and mind, and living life to the absolute MAX.
“Get out there, be open, kind and curious. You’ll find freedom with no limits !”
Wild Atlantic Way Adventurer
Spontaneous, energetic, with an insatiable thirst for adventure, you could find Rachel anywhere. Running up Nephin Mountain overlooking Loch Conn, sea kayaking among the rugged, cliff-lined coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way, biking hard in the Ox Mountains by night, or exploring the underwater sea caves at Downpatrick Head? That’s just in one day!
An ultra-distance endurance & adventure racer, qualified Krav Maga self-defence instructor, personal trainer, yoga instructor and passionate explorer, the only thing Rachel enjoys more than pushing the boundaries is encouraging others to push them with her.
Having travelled the world, Rachel knows how to get under the skin of a place, learn its secrets, and live it like a local.
In her downtime, you might also find Rachel sharing her knowledge and passion for whiskey and wine with eager locals on one of her sought-after wine or whiskey appreciation sessions.
If you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet Rachel’s mother Marjorie, an acclaimed chef who just never stops baking! Marjorie runs Brigown Bed & Breakfast and will be delighted to invite you into in her homely kitchen for a traditional baking lesson. When done, you might savour the fruits of your labour with Ireland’s favourite drink – a mug of steaming hot tea! Or you might relax and breathe in the aromas while exploring the craft and heritage of some of Ireland’s finest whiskeys beside the open fire at one of Rachel’s whiskey appreciation sessions.
Tour logistics, accounting, web design, photography, bike mechanics, sometimes ghost writing and a little bit of everything else. Meet the ‘Jack of all trades’ behind the scenes of our tours. Iszy moved to Ireland in 2019 to enjoy life, organise adventures and travel the world with Rachel. The native Austrian loves to explore, experience and learn about new things. With her laidback attitude and curious open mind she’s become an irreplaceable part of Rachel’s Irish Adventures.
